Hypnos
Hypnos in Greek mythology is the personification of sleep. It was a goddess that could put all the gods and all humans to sleep. He ran dry and sea, depriving people of their senses, offering as a gift the sleep that reliefs from suffering.
In ancient art, Sleep is depicted as a naked young man, sometimes with feathers on his head, or as a sleeping man on a feather bed.
My very own version of ''Hypnos'' is inspired both by the ancient world and my perception of sleep itself.
